My Story

I’m not your shanti, shanti, incense yogi.
I’m more of a kinda gal.

MY MISSION

Empower people to live life with confidence and resilience.

MY BELEIEFS

Your breath is your anchor.

Resilience is built through consistent practices that connect mind, body, and breath.

Train your mind through your body.

Cultivate resilience, not perfection.

It's never too late to start over.

Focus on what you can do today - small steps lead to significant changes.

MY STORY

I’ve faced a lot of trauma in my life starting early in childhood and was lucky to have basketball as my refuge. It gave me a way to reset, no matter what else was going on in my life. When that outlet was gone, alcohol became my focus. As alcohol can do, it made me stop living the way I knew I could, stopped me from having the life I wanted. I knew I had to make a change.

That change started after reading Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life by Jon Kabat-Zinn. I felt drawn to explore meditation and found myself at the San Francisco Zen Center in a Meditation for Recovery session. It was a new beginning—one that led to the sobriety I’ve maintained since 2001.

After getting sober in my late twenties, I backpacked through Africa and Southeast Asia and immersed myself in new cultures and perspectives for over a year. I also lived abroad in Reykjavík and Shanghai and other cities and was fortunate enough to attend multiple vipassanas—silent meditation retreats—in India and Thailand.

My travels made it clear that my purpose in life was to help others grow, heal, and find their inner strength. This reinforced my reasons for pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in social work. It deepened my commitment to my life’s work and I began empowering others to help themselves, make their dreams a reality, and live their best lives.

Upon graduation, I worked in Silicon Valley before and during the dot-com boom and across national and international markets, helping high-growth startups and later established companies navigate performance, engagement, and culture.

This realization led me to focus on sharing the power of breathwork, not just as a tool for relaxation but as a way to cultivate clarity, presence, and resilience. What started as a personal practice evolved into something more. It’s a way to bridge the gap between high performance and well-being.

I've been practicing yoga since 1997 and still practice. It's not a routine, it is who I am.

Breathe and Begin is the next step along my journey to helping others help themselves—sitting still and inhaling, exhaling. It’s a way for me to coach, learn, be a part of a larger community, support others, and just be me in all my perfectly, imperfect ways.

Let’s Breathe and Begin,

Let’s Work Together
